As the MD of Avita, I oversee the running of the business. My background includes experience as a racing technician and IT technician but have now been at Avita for 20 years. I love the flexibility and diversity of my job and dealing with technical challenges that arise. My philosophy is “No point playing if you don’t believe you can win”. Outside of work I’m passionate about Motor Racing.
I’ve been working at Avita since the beginning, overseeing the financial aspects and overseeing the general running of the office. By far my greatest achievement has been building and developing Avita to the successful company it is today. When I’m not busy working hard in the office, I like to play tennis, go on bike rides as well as travelling and sailing.
I’ve been working at Avita for almost 19 years. I have a degree in Computer Science and have developed great industry knowledge, which I’m constantly trying to broaden by keeping on top of new IT developments. My responsibilities include client account management and IT sales. I particularly enjoy working on clients’ sites and meeting different people. In 2011, I completed the Three Peaks Challenge and love playing guitar and football in my spare time.
I have 15 years’ experience as an electrical engineer and was sub-contracted to Avita for around 10 years before becoming part of the team, in charge of managing and implementing audio visual projects. No day is the same in my job which makes it even more enjoyable. In my spare time I coach an under 10’s football team and enjoy watching Only Fools and Horses when the wife lets me!
I’ve been working at Avita for seven years responsible for various office administration tasks including HR, payroll, invoicing as well as Health & Safety. I also manage the client contracts database as well as developing new administration procedures. I’m constantly surrounded by paperwork but luckily, I love paperwork! Outside of work I enjoy fitness, playing netball, going to the gym and walking my dog.
I’m new to Avita but have 10 years’ AV industry experience under my belt. My job involves Audio Visual design and implementation, technical validation and maintaining relationships with existing clients/suppliers to building new ones. I also oversee AV servicing and maintenance. In my spare time I enjoy playing pool, computer games and spending time with my wife and kids.
I’ve been with Avita for over seven years completing administrative tasks such as filing, taking client calls and assisting the Management team. I have a strong administration background with 15 years’ office management experience but have yet to master the perfect cup of coffee! Outside the office I enjoy nothing more than spending time with my family.
I have 5 years AV and IT experience working in Europe and America. At university I studied Computer Science and hold other AV and IT qualifications. As an AV support engineer I respond to maintenance queries both remotely and onsite to get systems up and running as quickly as possible. I also make proactive visits and work with clients on potential upgrades. In my spare time I enjoy TV/films, playing computer games and swimming but my greatest passion is travelling.
Since leaving college I have worked in IT for a number of private and public sector firms. My experience in proactive helpdesk and deskside support means I can provide users with a high level of service. Running is my main hobby. I have completed over a hundred races and regularly run and pace at my local parkrun. My greatest running achievement to date has been completing a marathon in 3 hr 35 min in fancy dress !
After a 15-year career in headhunting I moved across to IT account management in 2004. In 2009 I went round the world for 8 months before joining a startup VOIP company. In 2016 I was delighted to be approached by Avita to establish a sales and marketing department. My main hobby is travel and so far I have visited 49 countries – over 25% of the countries in the world. At home I relax by reading and swimming.
I have over 20 years IT experience using Windows 2003/2008 and Exchange 2003/2007 servers. My IT skills include supporting Win 7, LAN and wireless networks, and assisting with remote working. I have worked in higher education and for a national utility. I enjoy problem solving and helping clients, specialising in 1st and 2nd line support. I have three grown-up children and six grandchildren and enjoy spending time with them. I also love watching football and doing DIY.
I am a NCTJ-qualified journalist with over 20 years’ experience of working in communications. For the last five years I have worked as a marketing manager for various IT companies in London. I have also worked in communications for local government and as a reporter for local newspapers. I have a very lively three-year-old who keeps me busy – but when I have time I enjoy photography and going to the theatre.
I’ve been at Avita for three years, offering daily support for clients, monitoring and maintaining servers, configuring PCs for business use and delivering IT and AV equipment. I’m CSCS certified and enjoy seeing a challenge through to completion. I studied music to Diploma level and have performed at various festivals around Europe – I even had the privilege of sharing the stage with Pulp and Motorhead.
For the past few months, I’ve been working at Avita as an apprentice; installing new machines, providing client support and anything else I can assist with including making the tea. I didn’t follow the conventional route of going to university and took a more hands on approach to learning. I also lived in Spain for three years where I picked up some of the language, which I’m often testing out on my colleagues.
I’ve been managing the helpdesk at Avita for nine years. My role is extremely versatile and changes every day; from fixing the machines in the workshop, to keeping the office clear and making sure everyone has the tools and equipment they need. In my spare time I love the outdoors, walking from one place to the next.
