New Wi-Fi measures pave way for improved Avita services
The Wi-Fi Alliance, the worldwide network of companies that brings you Wi-Fi, has recently announced that their ‘Wi-Fi CERTIFIED ac’ certification program will be expanding, which will result in faster internet speeds and handling of Ultra HD and 4K video.
For those who do not know what ‘Wi-Fi CERTIFIED ac’ is, let us explain. Putting it simply, ‘Wi-Fi CERTIFIED ac’ is the latest generation of Wi-Fi. It is capable of delivering up to multi-gigabit per second data rates, thus enabling devices to handle demanding applications such as Ultra HD and 4K video, multimedia streaming and rapid file transfer on tablets, gaming devices, handsets plus many more.
Any new ‘ac’ product (so far including the likes of Cisco and Samsung) has now been tested to provide 160MHz channels rather than 80MHz, and four spatial streams up from three streams – both these factors will speed up wireless connections.
This is excellent news for us here at avita! The upgrades to Wi-Fi will help us provide high speed video streaming without the need to run cabling, which will save our clients time and cost and will make the installation process virtually hassle-free.
The Wi-Fi Alliance forecasts that by the year 2020 most Wi-Fi access points will support Wave 2 Wi-Fi, meaning that high performance, ever-speedier connections and a reduction of signal collision and interference will be commonplace for device users. We always look forward to technological advancements such as this and make sure we have the latest offerings so clients receive the very best for their business.
